His killer audition landed him a role in the popular show, ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil’, where he was portraying the character of Preet Juneja (the younger brother of the main male lead). Even though, his character was killed quite early in the show, his performance was noticed and appreciated widely by audiences.
THIS POPULARITY LED TO SUSHANT LANDING HIS BIGGEST TV ROLE IN EKTA KAPOOR’S ‘PAVITRA RISHTA’.He was cast as the main lead, Manav Deshmukh, a role that bagged him three major television awards for Best Male Actor and Most Popular Actor. His performance was lauded by all and critic Rajeev Masad wrote, “But it’s Sushant Singh Rajput, making his film debut as Ishaan, who it’s hard to take your eyes off.
