UBER FEMININE AND MINIMALISTIC ARE THE WORDS MADIYAH AL SHARQI USES TO DESCRIBE HER STYLE- A STYLE THAT IS THOROUGHLY REFLECTED IN EVERY COLLECTION. HER PRIMARY INSPIRATION WAS HER VERY STYLISH MOTHER WHO SURROUNDED HERSELF WITH FASHION AND DESIGN. “GROWING UP, THERE WERE TAILORS CONSTANTLY AT OUR HOUSE WORKING WITH MY MUM ON THE CLOTHES SHE DESIGNED SO IT WAS A NATURAL PROGRESSION TO FOLLOW HER FOOTSTEPS AND RUN MY OWN BUSINESS IN FASHION.

Marie Antoinette has been a looming influence on the label. The designs are for the modern Marie Antoinette- an elegant, smart and independent young woman who is ready to embrace her feminity. “I love how Marie Antoinette dressed and the lifestyle she led so she’s my constant muse. Every season I try to place her in a different era and that’s how my collection comes to life.”
The latest collection – A/W’15 – is highly inspired by her recent travel to Los Angeles. “I stayed true to pale sorbet hues but also explored with imprinted lace on leather to give it a three dimensional effect. I designed transitional pieces that can be adapted easily for warm and cool weather”
“I want to see the Madiyah Al Sharqi brand at an international level in the future. I’d like to share my work with the rest of the world and show the talent that lies here in the Middle East.”
