Raza

As someone who is in the business of fashion, Raza Beig is a man who spends an ample amount of time at the mall, exploring the retail scenario to get a sense of what it is that the consumers are looking for and what are the deals the brands offer. On being asked about his sartorial sense, he says “As a young man with a limited wardrobe, I managed to put together my clothes fairly well and always stood out and got noticed. I believe today, with a larger than life wardrobe, I am a prudent fan of true fashion and would stay true to being fashionably fantastic”.

ON HIS PERSONAL STYLE
My style is completely dependent on my mood. It’s all about comfort at work; fitted, sharp and dapper at business and social events; and flamboyant at the party scene!

ON HIS MOST CHERISHED POSSESSION

CHERISHED
It has to be my mother’s scarf that I was allowed to keep. This was just prior to her passing away and it incidentally happened to be her last visit to Dubai. I was having sheesha with friends one cold evening and she came and wrapped the scarf around me and said “You must be cold”. It holds a special place in my wardrobe and reminds me of her and her loving heart.

ON HIS FAVOURITE BRANDS

ON-HISI am very loyal to my own creations, which is Iconic and Splash. Nearly 70% of my wardrobe, especially my work outfits are from both these brands. Having said that, I do wear designer and bridge brands that I trust for my individual style. For casual jeans, I relate with D-Squared and G-star; for suits and formals, it’s Armani; for accessories it has to be Bvlgari and Rolex. I appreciate these brands because they understand the profile of a customer like me, especially the body type and cater to us specifically.

I’m also a collector of shoes and own close to 200 pairs with varied styles. I invest in a good pair every once in a while. I particularly prefer the styles offered by Prada, Christian Louboutin, Giuseppe Zanotti, Louis Vuitton and Borghetti.

ON HIS COMFORT CLOTHING
I’m most comfortable in a good pair of jeans and T-shirt; but at work I would wear a cotton Lycra trouser or Chinos
from the ‘We Love Pants’ collection at Splash and a nice Oxford shirt. I could top that with a jacket or a jumper,
depending on the mood or occasion of a specific day.

ON THE MOST OVERPRICED BRAND IN THE MARKET
Hermes for bags and Patek Philippe for watches
